On the topic of key changes I think these kind are worth knowing and you can actually get away with using them on the fly, in a lot of cases...as long as you handle them with some care:

flat Ab: If you play a Ys chord rooted right between the root of Pa and Ab you get a key change where only one note is different. This makes it palatable to the ear. What happens is by playing that chord you cause the entire note map to move down one string..."down" meaning in the direction of the E string to the A - in other words a "perfect fourth." This is just one of the concepts you should get from studying the famous "Circle of 5ths" wheel. If you move your keys in either direction, in perfect 4ths or 5ths you introduce only one new note. That makes it easy on the ears, while allowing for some interesting enough changes.

sharp Ys: Same idea as the one above, if you play an Ab chord rooted at the position that "sharp Ys" would indicate, you get another interesting, yet palatable change.

Os as a minor: By playing Os as a minor chord, it drags the map straight down one string because it causes Yb to occupy the normal position for Os.

If anyone wants to discuss this, just post and say so.
