Okay Fred,
It's now one hour of study and practicing the spiral and jumping. Screw the questions - You are a GENIUS!! I decided to see if this stuff worked, so I plugged into my son's Fender G-Dec practice amp, laid down a rock background track in E at a tempo of 90 and spent about 5 seconds finding a note that sounded good.
I've been improv'ing a solo of that track for 15 minutes and am seeing that pattern all over the fretboard. It's absolutely unbelievable. I've never improv'd anything before and don't know anything about solo'ing. I've been playing the same 30 or 40 songs for about 3 or 4 years.

I'm still getting a little bit stuck around the 12th fret, so some enlightenment would help there.

But your book doesn't even scratch the surface of jumping - I found you don't need the two fret jump - I can just follow the pattern I'm on right down the fretboard without skipping frets - head to bridge to triple and back up.

Absolutely Freaking Amazing!!! I'm so excited about playing guitar now!!!

Got 50 preset tracks on this amp - Now I can do something with all of them.

Sheeeeeen!!! Dude! Wow! That is the best message I've ever got!!! Yeah!
Oh, and, by the way, somehow my guestbook failed to notify me of your other message...the one with questions. I'll get to those a little later. Right now, I'm exhausted and going to bed. But, I just HAD to answer that last one. It got me pretty excited!
I just love it when the simplicity strikes someone as profoundly as it did me. I mean, when the light came on for me I actually felt a little mad at the whole world. I felt a little ripped off by the fact that no one had ever even got close to opening my eyes to what is so clearly simple, yet awesomely powerful...and life-changing to a guitarist like me.
It was because of the fact that noone was out there making it known to the regular guys like you and I that I wrote this book.
Dude! Your excitement inspires me!!! And, let me tell you one thing...if the stuff on soloing is setting you on fire, I can't wait till the stuff on chords soaks in. Because that's the key to unlocking other scales, like diminished, harmonic minor (the desperate, creepy sounding stuff). You are going to blow a gasket, my friend! I'm putting together some jam tracks where I utilize the family of chords. I'm planning to set it up on the website soon so we can all jam along. That's going to be fun for all, but also a critical piece when it comes to illustrating the leap to other scales.
Hey, just remember, I'm your helpful advisor. I'm right here, ready to assist you with any roadblocks you may come to. I don't get a whole lot of messages with questions about the method. So, feel free to use my help all you want. It won't bother me in the least. I hope this sparks a journey into the kind of playing you may have always wish for, but never thought would be so easy!
Cheers!!!
Fred
